Some suggestions for your comment, please write a comment in your own words though:

• Require large electric power users to pay for all of their own costs

• Ask large power users to fund renewable energy sources that match 100% of their electricity use

• Require that utilities shut off power to data centers in order to prevent blackouts

• Ask utilities to provide increased transparency during the planning processes

• Reject requests for electric rate increases if the utility is adding large load customers

You can just speak from the heart - why this matters to you. Why you don’t want data centers.

You can also say something like:

We NEED YOUR HELP to stop the data centers. Volunteer grassroots organizers shouldn’t have to do this alone. You need to FIGHT WITH US TOO. You have the connections and understand the system. Don’t leave us on the frontlines alone against Big Tech. Help us protect our community.

Speak at the next County Meeting

If the public gets to speak it will be at the 2pm meeting on Aug 11th, speaker sign up is in person before the meeting at the room entrance.

Be prepared to speak for 2 min.

Bring a written copy of your speech to give to the clerk

State your name and where your from

State What you want (clear ask—1 sentence)

Why (2–4 bullets) Bring receipts, but don’t overload

Impact - If you have data, use round numbers

Close (repeat the ask + thank you)

Practice out loud (seriously)

- Be calm, respectful, and specific.

- Avoid long backstory, personal attacks, or profanity.

- Speak in request + impact language, not just complaints.

If you notice the same points being repeats be prepared to deliver something unique.

Do not clap or cheer for others by their rules. Show participation with your eyes and facials while giving your attention for support.
